white sand beaches and seven bures.
On a
clear calm day, a favorite activity is paddling down
Malamu Bay at high tide. After winding through the
mangroves you will reach the other side of the island.
Take a picnic and stop for lunch on the secluded beach,
then paddle back past Soliyaga Island, snorkeling along
the reef as you make your way to the shores of
Lalati.
Nanuku Island is your own private
little paradise. Just minutes away from Lalati by boat,
we'll drop you off for a picnic, shelling, and
snorkeling. Call us on the walkie-talkie and we'll
pick you up.
How about a walk along the untouched
beaches and coves of Beqa, especially at sunset?
You
can dive, surf and kayak and after get into the health and spa or if
you are still energetic the gym |

Beqa is the ancestral home of Fiji
Islands' fierce and famous Fire Walkers. These
people have the mystic gift of walking barefoot on
hot rocks without harm. Ask one of the staff to
relate the incredible legend that explains how
this came to be. This unique event is part of
Lalati Resort's traditional Fijian evening (Meke)
complete with native food prepared Lovo style.
Local villagers will gather around the carved
wooden Kava bowl with you, sharing their grog,
stories, and culture. Lalati Resort supports
sustainability on remote Beqa Island. Remuneration by the resort for
cultural events helps support the local villages
so that the Fijian culture sustains itself.
The Beqa Islanders
are
proud to share their native Meke dancing, Fire
Walking ceremonies, and Kava sessions with you. |

Lalati's pacific rim food is
legendary among guests. Beato and his staff
creatively blend regional fruits and vegetables,
fresh fish, and imported meats into
skillfully-seasoned and artfully-presented meals.
Favourite dinners include the Sesame-Seared Ahi
with Wasabi Sauce, the New Zealand Rack of Lamb,
and the Walu with Lemon-Caper
Sauce.
Lunches might include a
Chicken Pesto Pizza from our Italian wood-fired
pizza oven, Lalati's signature fish tacos with
fresh Roti, or Soba noodles and fresh Wahoo. There
are also plentiful salads of varietal lettuce
grown in Lalati's own garden.
Returning
guests always ask for their dessert favourites,
such as the chocolate tower, crème brulee, or the
decadent chocolate soufflé. All are irresistible.
They also serve homemade coconut ice cream and
mango, pineapple, and kumquat
sorbets.
The staff are happy to
accommodate vegetarian requests or any other
special dietary needs. They try to grow as many
of the fruits, vegetables, and herbs on site as
possible. And don't worry, they change the
menu
daily! |
