Day 1, Friday,
Arrival in Hobart
Arrival by 13.00h. Hotel transfer and tour
briefing. Afternoon excursion to Mount Field National Park. A first taste
of the temperate rainforest on our walk to Russell Waterfalls followed by
Afternoon Tea. After returning to Hobart we visit Mount Wellington (1270m)
with its magnificent views over southern Tasmania and Hobart. The day is
concluded by a gourmet welcome dinner in a secluded bush location.
Accommodation in bright airy waterfront appartements.

Day 2, Saturday,
Bruny Island - Seal Colony & Penguins
After breakfast we depart for the ferry to
Bruny Island, ca. 20 kms south of Hobart. In Adventure Bay, once landing
place of Captain Cook, we board the 'Albatross' for our cruise along the
rugged South coast of Bruny Island. We experience seals, raise crayfish
pots and enjoy a lunch feast of seafood. We continue by vehicle to our
accommodation on the west coast of the island where we will enjoy a rest
and an early dinner. Before dusk we drive to the Isthmus, that separates
the two halves of the island to observe the daily parade of Penguins and
Muttonbrids who return to their burrows after dark.

Day 3, Sunday,
Port Arthur Historic Site
The day is set aside for the Port Arthur
Historic Site, the remains of Tasmania's famous convict settlement. The
site features many attractions and experienced guides will bring its
history alive. A short boattour to the Isle of the Dead is included. After
inspecting the Historic Site we will explore the Tasman Peninsula with its
rich colonial history and interesting geology. Stops include the Coal
Mines, Remarkable Cave, Devil's Arch and the Tesselated Pavement at
Eaglehawk Neck where we will enjoy our afternoon tea. Travel to the
historic village of Richmond for overnight stay and evening
stroll.

Day 4, Monday, Bicheno -
St Helens
After breakfast we make our way up the sunny East Coast, catching a
first glimpse of its stunning coastline. Morning tea is served towering
above the open sea before we continue to Bicheno. After dropping off our
luggage we continue to Douglas Apsley National Park for an easy stroll and
refreshing swim in the Apsley River Gorge. After lunch in the Elephant
Pass Pancake Parlour we shall continue on to St Helens's giant Peron Dunes
and picturesque Bay of Fires. In the evening enjoy the comforts of our
beachside resort and dinner in the hotel. Another opportunity to observe
fairy penguins within metres of the resort.

Day 5, Tuesday, Freycinet
National Park
Today we shall explore the picturesque Freycinet National Park and
its wonderful scenery and walking tracks. Enjoy the stunning beauty of
Wineglass Bay (voted one of the World's 10 best beaches) before walking
across to Hazards Beach and along the West coast of the peninsula (ca 5
hours walk). Non-walkers may join a boat cruise to Great Oyster Bay and
Schouten Island or a four wheel drive tour of the National Park. After an
active day we arrive at our luxurious resort on Great Oyster Bay, complete
with romantic cabins, private beach, pool and tennis court. Tonight we
will celebrate with a magic farewell dinner.

Day 6, Wednesday,
Departure - Hobart
Depart after a leisurely breakfast for Hobart airport (ca. 1-1.5
hrs) for your departures after 10 am.
Tour includes:
Transport by comfortable minibus, airport transfers on arrival and
departure days only, private tour guide, meals, excursions and entry fees
as listed.
Important: Warm clothing and good walking shoes
recommended.
