Day 1.  Adelaide - Wilpena Pound

We will picked you up from your Adelaide City Hotel at around 7.30 in the morning. We leave Adelaide and head north through picturesque countryside - grain farming areas in particular. Our first stop is going to be at Burra, which is a very famous copper mining town. At Burra we will be exploring the history of these early mining days in Australia and we will also take you on a trip to the nearby mining sites. We will also have a look at the township itself which presents itself in a mixture of historic buildings among very new dwellings. Now we head North to "Maggies Rendezvous" in Orroroo for a well-earned lunch break. After lunch we will visit South Australia's largest and oldest Eucalypt tree. From there we head North to Hawker, the gateway to the Central Flinders Ranges and reach our Base near Wilpena Pound in the early evening.

Day 2.  Wilpena Pound

After the early morning optional flight (extra costs are not included in the tour price) around Wilpena Pound we will enjoy a hearty breakfast. Following breakfast we drive to the Sacred Canyon and we will walk along the creek bed inside the canyon to see some interesting Aborigine paintings and carvings. The Buneryoo Valley and Gorge (superb scenery) is next on our agenda before we get to the intersection of the Brachina Geological Trail and Gorge and the famous Aroona Valley. Today, we shall enjoy a delicious outdoor picnic near where Sir Hans Heysen used to paint his famous Landscapes. We travel through time (geological formations are some 580 million years old) and will encounter the sight of the true outback at the end of the Gorge. On the way back to our base we will drive along more magic sceneries, the Morolana Scenic Drive.
