Lake Eyre - Where no road goes    Full details dates and prices

Wild - Rugged - Remote. Lake Eyre is the lowest point in mainland Australia. A vast salt lake surrounded by wild untracked sand dunes. And this year the water is flooding in, bringing incredible bird life. We go off road and track where the others don't - to wild places like the Warburton Groove. This year will see water in the inland and birds galore!

A number of tours are organised each year with a number of them only departing once or twice during June/July. As soon as the 2007 dates are fixed they will be included on the site.

Canning Stock Route 21 days

The Canning Stock Route is the longest and most remote Stock Route in the world. Crossing the Great Sandy Desert, the Little Sandy Desert and large portions of the Gibson Desert, it is almost 2,000kms of hard driving. It is a place of living history - the longest heritage trail in Australia. A series of wells, first dug in 1906 by a party under the leadership of A.W.Canning connect the stock route. These wells are generally situated on or near earlier Aboriginal wells. The Stock Route is also a place of great natural beauty. It is a desert wilderness with diverse land systems. The scenery changes constantly, and there is never a dull moment! Combine all this with Diamantina’s great cuisine, fine wines, friendly knowledgeable guides, and you have an outback odyssey unequalled.

Expedition to Pitjantjatjara Lands 9 Days

Pitjantjatjara people traditionally ranged as far south as Ooldea Soak in the southern Great Victoria Desert, westward into Ngaanyatjara Lands near Warburton, and further north than Uluru. The first European to sight the Musgrave Ranges was explorer W.C.Gosse in 1873, followed shortly after by Ernest Giles. Giles spoke of the area in glowing terms. The country is truly beautiful. White man’s borders carved up the traditional Anangu lands. The western section from Amata to Wingellina prior to 1981 was Aboriginal Reserve, administered by Superintendents of the South Australian Department of Community Welfare.
