Surrounded by clear turquoise water, coral reefs and thousands of fish,
this Melanesian style resort is the custodian of one of Vanuatu's only marine sanctuaries,
with coral reefs ideal for snorkeling or
scuba diving right from the shore.
The vast majority of staff on the island come from
the local
village and therefore are also the landlords. As such, they take pride in
the place and their warm and friendly natures mean they'll go out of their
way to make sure you have a good time whether you decide to sit back,
relax, and take the world as it comes, or pack your days full of the
variety of activities available on Hideaway or in nearby Port Vila.
However you choose to enjoy your time, one thing is certain: while you are
here the rat race will seem a million miles away. With no TV or phone in
your room, relaxation and peace of mind are yours for the
taking.

| Hideaway Island Resort and Marine Sanctuary is far from the
typical, with the emphasis on protecting the reef, while maintaining the
character of this piece of Melanesian paradise. |

One Bedroom Oceanside
Bungalows
All the one bedroom bungalows have
spectacular views over the water and are placed to see either the sunrise
or the sunset. With interior floor space of approximately 60 square
metres, they are more than generously proportioned. The bathroom, living
area and separate bedroom all work together to help you make the most of
your prime position next to the ocean.
Double
doors in the bedroom mean that, depending on the degree of privacy you
require, you can even lie in bed and take in the views. Each one bedroom bungalow has
either a wooden or coral deck with chairs and a double hammock, to really
help you get into the swing of things.
The bungalow include a fridge and coffee/tea
making facilities, comfortable sofa setting and table and chairs in the
living area. If required there is room for an additional double bed or
bunks to be placed there.
Studio Oceanside
Bungalows
The four Studio Oceanside
Bungalows are similar to but smaller than their
one bedroom counterparts. All are located on the south-eastern side of the
island to catch the prevailing breezes and have a small garden with a
hammock so you can laze and overlook the waters of beautiful Mele
Bay.
These
Melanesian-style units are all free-standing structures with coral walls
and local art works to decorate them. Each bungalow has its own unique
flavour due to the materials available at the time they were built and
their position on the island.
Many also have bathrooms where you can enjoy a shower and the
view at the same time, a testament to the privacy afforded by their lush
tropical surroundings. In these bungalows the living and bedroom area are
in one room. Each contains a double bed and a lounge setting, as well as
bunk beds if required. Each bungalow has a fridge and tea/coffee making
facilities.

Twin Share Rooms
Also
called twin-dorms, the six twin-share beach
units are ideal for the budget conscious couple or single traveller who’d
like a little bit more privacy than a standard dormitory offers. Located
right on the beach, the lodges are in a prime position for lazing and
watching the world go by. They are located in a house-like structure with
a wide wrap-around covered veranda with tables and chairs out the front
and sides. Ideal for lounging on and taking in the dramatic views.
The rooms
are furnished with a double or twin beds, a small cupboard and a hand
basin. Separate shower and toilet facilities are close by.

Quad Share Dormitory
The new two storey building, with a
larger 185m2 footprint, incorporates six new dorm rooms able to
accommodate up to 26 guests. Each room has a ceiling fan, individual bunk
lights, power outlet and lockers. The central communal area provides a
lounge area with TV, VCR & DVD facilities. We’ve also provided a
lighted bench area for camera setup, with extra power outlets for charging
stations. Unlike the old dorms, the new facility provides separate male
& female changing facilities, each with two showers, three toilets
& two wash basins.
The entire building is
built using poured concrete & blocks, providing excellent protection
from the elements and sound attenuation between adjacent rooms.
