Banks & Torres Islands

Accommodation/Packages/Activities

Mi wantem go long

Situated to the Far North of Vanuatu, there are 62 islands in this group, of which only a few are inhabited. Visitor numbers are few and village life carries on as it has for centuries. All of the islands are volcanic in origin, with two still active (Gaua & Vanua Lavu).  A rugged pristine environment, amazing scenery, culture and superb snorkeling with incredible visibility. Well worth a visit, but you need to be prepared to forego some home comforts!

We have other properties available, notably the Kamilisa Resort on Loh Island, and Leumerous Guest House on Mota Lava near Ra Island. So if you are wanting to look at other accommodation options, or interested in other Islands in Torba Province, please ask!

Accommodation

Wongrass Bungalow

Situated on Gaua Island, 3 minutes walk from the Airport. The Bungalow is built in Melanesian style using traditional building materials. The bungalow has two separate rooms with a dining/sitting area between.  There are basic toilet and shower facilities (cold water only) in a separate building.

Meals served in the dining room are of good quality and utilise local produce. Be aware that food options are very limited, and reasonably expensive where they have to be flown in, so if there is anything you crave, eg alcohol, you need to bring it with you!
