So
you really want to get away from it all?! Then visit Aneityum
the Southern most inhabited island in Vanuatu, and transfer to uninhabited
Mystery Island and begin your life as a 21st Century Robinson
Crusoe! No power! No Telephones! No food and No
drink except what you bring with you from Port Vila, and some
seafood and fruits that you may gather. A few very friendly and helpful
locals live on the "mainland" across the water, however they
seldom visit and never from late afternoon so the island is all yours!
Accommodation
is in a rudimentary coral and thatched cabin which has two rooms and
very basic kitchen facilities. There is however a barbeque outside to
add a touch of civilisation! Also outside is a very basic toilet
situated within a palm frond cubicle.
Don't
expect tour guides
and organised activities,
it's up to you! Snorkeling (bring your own gear!) is superb in
these unspoilt
tropical
waters, and digging for shellfish is a fun pastime, along with exploring
and generally enjoying total relaxation!
